Election 2017: Supreme Court Order For a RUNOFF

The Liberian Supreme Court announced that there will be no rerun to October's general election

Liberians in and out of the diaspora have been eagerly waiting to hear the Supreme Court final ruling. Well, we can all relax now because the Supreme Court announced today, Thursday, December 7th, that there will be no rerun but rather a runoff between Unity Party ( VP. Joseph Boakai) and CDC (Sen. George Weah) who were the top two parties of October’s poll will go ahead and that there will be no rerun of the first round.

During the announcement, Justice Philip Banks announced that “In the absence of sufficient evidence, the court cannot order a re-run of the election.”
