Domestic revenue is performimg and will perform even more in the years ahead. Thanks to the LRA Commisioner General and Team, we are seeing big gains in domestic revenue both from domestic tax and from customs.
Stronger tax effort in the area of large tax audits, tax exemption and incentive reforms, real estate taxes and digitization will rake in millions more.
The below graphs show domestic revenue in millions of US dollars since 2014. These exclude grants and budget support.
All these gains are due to the strong poltical support of His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah who has mandated zero political interference in tax collection, suppoerted LRA to receive 4% of revenue to fund its own activities without submitting vouchers to MFDP and given the LRA the free hand to enforce the revenue code to the letter without FEAR OR FAVOR.
Staff at LRA Ministry of Transport and other revenue related enties deserve all the praise and support from Government.
