There are many people traveling home but not enough are sharing tips for others who have never been there or foreigners who might want to travel there someday. I’ve seen some people shared stories about their trip home, but you know how some of our people are; they focus on sharing negativity more than sharing helpful tips that would help others when they travel. Sometimes sharing information as little as where to eat while in Liberia or places to relax are vital information that people will kindly appreciate. To me, this is another great to also contribute to promoting our beloved country. With that being said, I have visited Liberia twice and I feel I have some relevant information that would help anyone in the U.S when they’re traveling. This information below is exactly what I use as a guide whenever I am traveling back home and I will be relooking over this for my upcoming trip, which is in the next few months, and I cannot wait to start planning.
You Need U.S Passport
Note: Green card holder only Need a valid LIBERIAN passport. If you’re a US citizen, you’ll need a visa (the fees vary depending on how long you’ll stay) You should apply for your visa 1 to 2 months before your trip.
Download the visa application online here: https://www.liberianembassyus.org/sites/default/files/documents/Liberia_Visa_Application_Form_revised_2018-06-21.pdf
Note: You’ll need to fill it out and mail your passport, your travel itinerary, your fill out money order (exact fees) and two passport size pictures (get from CVS) to the address on the application. You’re advised to write in bold letters and clearly.
If you are a green card holder then you don’t need a visa. I hope you have your valid Liberian passport.
A couple of shots are recommended, however, Yellow Fever Shot certificate is highly required (Shot, last for ten years). Someone told me on Facebook that the new yellow fever shot certificate last for a lifetime. However, the one I received in 2019, last for 10 years.
Malaria medication
Note: it’s not mandatory, however, you’re strongly advised to get it.
Typhoid medication Note: it’s not mandatory, however, you’re strongly advised to get it.
A negative COVID19 test (Three days before your trip)
Download the Lib Travel App: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/lib-travel/id1537552090
Note: The people at the airport will help you if you need it.

Note: Many people have complained about this particular embassy; however, I cannot say the same because I have NEVER experienced bad costumer service.
