This year, Mama Liberia will officially make her first grand entrance at the prestigious Miss Grand International and Goretti Itoka, who is the current reigning Miss Mano River Union has been chosen!
Itoka took to her Facebook on August 10th to announce the news:
“I am overwhelmed and proud to announce that I am Miss Grand Liberia 2021 @missgrandliberia the first to represent Liberia at the @missgrandinternational pageant this Year, it’s always an honor to put the flag of Liberia across my heart, it’s a privilege that I’m very humble and grateful for, please follow and support my Journey as I represent our prestigious land.”
Itoka who recently announced the upcoming launch of her own Agriculture business called, Agroretti in September, is a 24 year old student at Stella Maris Polytechnic University where she continues her education. She is also the face of many known brands in Liberia.
Apart from Agriculture and beauty pageant, she has worked for Sky 107.1FM, played basketball at the YMCA of Monrovia, worked at a newspaper called New Republic , has her own non-profit organization called the Goretti Latife Itoka (GLI) , volunteered for Cummings Africa Foundation team to donate hospital supplies in the south eastern region in Liberia, and starting her own show called School Life on Light TV, which according to her lead to some major roles in Liberian movies.
The Miss Grand International is to be held in October, however, the host country has not been announced.
