Tamba Boimah Hali is a outside linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League. The Kansas City Chiefs start off-season workouts in just a few weeks, but team members have kept busy in the off-season. Linebacker Tamba Hali was one of the many who spent their time off traveling. This year, Tamba visted his hometown. Last week, he visted along with his brother and father. The family left a war-tored Gbarnga back in 1992 coming to the US in 1994. According to Tamba Hali, There wasn’t too much planning to do, they just decided to go.
He pays a visit to the house he grew up in and he was surprise how much the infrastructure has improved so much since they left, but because of all the fighting during the civil war there; he can’t imagine a life if they had stayed.
“I always remember, I always wanted to join the fighting. I wanted to do that because I was a child and everyone was doing it… My brother wouldn’t let me.. ume, he did it for a bit. But he wouldn’t let me… But I maybe dead! I don’t think I would be living if it wasn’t for him. All the people I knew as friends, they’re dead…” (During his latest interview with KCTV)
Hali says, there were some security concerned over his visit. So he brought a protection team to keep him safe since tourist kidnapping is an issue. Fortunately, he never had any problem.
He told reporters that he is planning on creating a charity or a foundation that will help bring attention to Liberia.
